Old English sumor, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch zomer, German Sommer, also to Sanskrit samā ‘year’ or ‘season’. And translates in French as ‘été’, I am…………
I really like how the word Summer relates to the Sanskrit samā ‘year’. It appeared to fit so well with the quote I stumbled into while I was playing with ‘Summer’ in Google search…
“One must maintain a little bittle of summer, even in the middle of winter.”
Henry David Thoreau
I also super like the alternative definition of Summer given by the Collins dictionary:
“A time of blossoming, greatest happiness.”
I hope this will give you some inspiration as in finding what you would like to start to cultive over the next three months and way beyond… have a BEYOUTIFUL SUMMER EVERYONE!!!!!!! :-)
