Yoga in French
If you speak (a little) French but don’t get to practice enough or if you are French and miss your mother tongue, come along to a weekly yoga class…in French. Yoga in French is a yoga class entirely taught in French by a fully qualified Yoga Teacher, Alex, from France! Yoga in French is open to all levels of French and Yoga experience. Classes are taught in the Classic Hatha Yoga tradition and draw from Alex’s knowledge and experience of yoga through her own personal practice, teaching, and on going studies. At Beyoutiful Yoga, we teach a mindful yoga through the exploration of the body, breath and mind. Each class is designed around a theme, encouraging students to go within, and combines a balance of physical postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), relaxation and meditation techniques.
DAY & TIME
Every Thursday, 6.15 – 7.30pm
The Yoga Studio, 18 Wilson St, South Yarra (Map)
Classes run with school terms (1 term = 10 weeks). Term pass are $180.**
Casual classes, where available, are $22.
Please note that Term 4 is replaced by a 5 Week Spring Series
starting off on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 6.15 to 7.30pm. Total cost is $100. No casual attendance, enrolment is for the entire series.
Alex’s ‘Yoga in French’ class is always a pleasure!
I had previously read that one of the most effective ways to learn a foreign language, is to learn another skill in this language. This is true, this class improves my health and my french! I am more relaxed, more flexible and have muscular strength that isn’t covered by a typical gym workout. The french we absorb during the class wouldn’t be covered by a typcial french class either. Alex is a knowledgable teacher, both in terms of pranayama and asana, but also the philosophical background to yoga. Her class both energises and relaxes.
Yoga in French avec Alex, c’est toujours un plaisir!
J’ai lu par le passé que la façon la plus efficace d’apprendre une langue étrangère était d’acquérir une nouvelle compétence dans cette langue. En effet, Yoga in French améliore à la fois ma santé et mon niveau de français! Je suis plus détendu, plus souple et plus musclé. J’ai une force musculaire qui n’est pas formée par une séance de gym typique. Et le vocabulaire que nous apprenons n’est pas couvert dans une classe typique de langue. Alex est un professeur très compétent de pranayama et asana, mais aussi de philosophie du yoga. Ses cours de yoga énergisent et détendent à la fois.
Every Thursday I look forward to my yoga class – the class is warm, relaxing and very welcoming. Alex is a wonderfully knowledgeable, pleasant and patient yoga teacher. I love the holistic approach to yoga in the class – as well as working on our postures, I enjoy thinking about new ideas and how to translate these into everyday life.
