Letting go is not easy: letting go of our expectations, letting go of our judgements. We always tend to cling to the answers we struggle to find, want to be in control of every little thing, or resist to the change when it comes across our path. We have to learn to let go of the “what if”, “I wish” or “I hope”, we have to learn to free up this blocked energy that we are holding onto, and have to trust life a little more! Let yourself go with the flow, open up to the unknown and embrace it with all your heart. When we resist to life and its natural unfolding, we create fear, anxiety and pain, and we find it difficult to move forward. Letting go doesn’t mean surrendering or giving up, it simply means letting go of the stories we tell ourselves, “I can’t do this” or “I can do better at that”. When in doubt, always remember: attachment leads to suffering, detachment creates freedom! Remember it in the same as a bird encaged, you would never deprive a bird from its freedom to fly, would you? Have a read of this little poem written by Danna Faulds, print it, stick it to your fridge, and come back to it! It addresses it all so beautifully…

“Let go of the ways you thought life would unfold, the holding of plans or dreams or expectations – Let it all go.

Save your strength to swim with the tide. The choice to fight what is here before you now will only result in struggle, fear, and desperate attempts to flee from the very energy you long for.

Let go. Let it all go and flow with the grace that washes through your days whether you received it gently or with all your quills raised to defend against invaders.

Take this on faith; the mind may never find the explanations that it seeks, but you will move forward nonetheless. Let go, and the wave’s crest will carry you to unknown shores, beyond your wildest dreams or destinations.

Let it all go and find the place of rest and peace, and certain transformation.”
